بسياري از داوطلباني که در کنکور رشته مترجمي شرکت ميکنند، به اميد و انگيزه ترجمه کتاباند. همه در خيالشان بعد از چهار سال خود را مترجم معروفي ميبينند که کتابشان پرفروش شده و جايزه بهترين ترجمه را بهدست آوردهاند. برآورده نشدن اين آرزو را با سعيد سبزيان، مترجم ادبيات داستاني و تئوريهاي ترجمه و مسعود هاشمي، مدرس ترجمه در دانشگاه آزاد در ميان گذاشتهايم.
«تحصیل رشته تربيت مترجم در دانشگاه راهکاری مناسب براي مترجم شدن است؛ اما کافي نيست. تجربه و علاقه فراوان ميتواند تکميلکننده کار يک مترجم خوب باشد. نگاهي اجمالي به رشته ترجمه در ايران نشان از ناکافي بودن واحدها جهت تمرين و تسلط بر اين رشته پيچيده و البته ظريف دارد.»
